It has come to our attention that 2 of our former board members Daniel Xue and Andy Wang have been using the name of “Kansas City Chinese Association” to contact our members and conduct activities that caused confusion and harm in our community. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify this to our members and friends.

You have been a member of the thriving Chinese community organization evolved from the old Kansas City Chinese Network Association (KCCNA) and now named Kansas City Chinese Association (KCCA). The membership card you own, the website you visit and used for membership communication bear a distinctive logo (name with design shown below) of Kansas City Chinese Association (KCCA), which has been registered with State of Kansas as service/trade mark.

As members of this organization, you have been able to enjoy many benefits as well as contribute to the vitality of this organization. This organization has been able to increase its size and influences in the local communities, governments and businesses. These influences benefit both members and our communities alike.

The so-called “Kansas City Chinese Association” organized by Daniel Xue and Andy Wang is a totally different organization with a different web site, logo and e-mail address. Both Daniel Xue and Andy Wang were on the board of the official Kansas City Chinese Association (KCCA) but recently resigned from the board. While it is fine for them to form their own organization and serve the community, they do not represent the KCCA organization that you are already belong to. The board of directors of official Kansas City Chinese Association (KCCA) would like to let you be aware of the difference.

The official Kansas City Chinese Association (KCCA) is being led by President CJ Wei. The history of KCCA can be traced back to 1996. The former and current presidents are are 1996-Tao Hai Su; 1997-Xiong Yi Qiang; 1998-Lo Yi Chang; 1999-Li Dong; 2000-Cai Jin Wen; 2001 - Zhu Yi Ming; 2002-Zhang Jin Song(M); 2003-Chu Li; 2004-Wu Min Fang, 2005-Zhang Jin Song(F); 2006-Yijing Brentano, 2007-2008 Tammy Wang; Present - CJ Wei.

Your KCCA is governed by most of the original KCCA board members under the existing Bylaw. The board will continue actively organizing community events. The 2010 KCCA Chinese New Year celebration on Feb 6 at Yardley Hall of JCCC, and Performance by China National Performance Arts Group on Feb 27 will be next. So stay tuned for our updates.

The 2010 new membership fee is $15 per family. 2009 KCCA member 2010 renewal $6 per family。Online easy registration / renewal process will be available in January 2010.

Almost a year has gone by since we had the successful 2009 Show at Yardley Hall celebrating Chinese New Year. This means the 2010 Spring Festival celebration, the biggest event hosted by Kansas City Chinese Association (KCCA), is just around the corner. We anticipate another sold-out event.

The 2010 celebration performance will be held in Yardley Hall again (at Johnson County Community College-JCCC) on Saturday, Feb 6, 2010. Tickets will be on sale starting January at our KCCA office inside of the 888 International Market (119th & 69 Highway) or on KCCA web site (WWW.KCCA-KS.ORG). Online tickets can be picked up at the KCCA office inside of 888 International Market before Feb. 6th, or at Yardley Hall on Feb. 6th. Members of Kansas City Chinese Association (KCCA) will enjoy discounted tickets as before (Member-$3/ticket, non-member - $10/ticket).

To celebrate 2010 Chinese New Year, sponsored by All-Federation of China for Overseas Chinese, China National Performance Arts Group is planning on a series of performances in New York, Detroit, Indianapolis, Houston, Kansas City, St. Francisco and Los Angles.
